About the Role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club

Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.

 

The Division

The Racing Division is committed to managing all aspects of Hong Kong’s world-class sport of horse racing, covering the full value chain — from importation and training to racedays, equestrian, welfare, integrity, and international engagement.  With Conghua Racecourse and Greater Bay Area expansion, we’re shaping racing into a dynamic sporting, social, and entertainment experience.

 

The Job

  • be prepared to commit to a 3-5 year apprenticeship
  • be enrolled in City & Guilds Rural Saddlery Award
  • receive supervisory support to complete practical and theoretical training
  • have an opportunity to secure employment as permanent Saddler within the HKJC

 

About You

  • Form 5 standard or above
  • At least one year working experience
  • Hands-on experience in MS application
  • Demonstrate a good standard of education and level of verbal and written English
  • Demonstrates a positive and willing attitude to learning, follows instructions, and accepts feedback constructively.
  • Works with care, accuracy, and attention to detail when handling tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Is reliable and disciplined, punctual for work, and completes assigned tasks responsibly.
  • Adheres to health and safety requirements, maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area.
  • Behaves professionally and cooperatively, showing respect for colleagues, animals, and customers.
  • Have proven ability to work and communicate with customers
  • Should be positive with a flexible approach
  • Passion for horse care & equestrian sports
