The Baker Hughes Summer Trainee Program is designed to give students and recent graduates hands-on work experience that helps build the foundation for their professional careers. In this role, you will gain first-hand insight into the processes, systems, and practices that support strong execution and help meet business and customer needs through effective materials management and operational support.

Partner with the best

As a Summer Trainee, you will participate in focused training, team meetings, and project-based work, and you will have the opportunity to present your results. Throughout the programme, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager to ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can also expect coaching and mentoring to help you complete assignments and continue developing your skills.

You will also have the opportunity to become familiar with Baker Hughes’ Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) standards and culture, as well as the company’s strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

As a Materials Management Summer Trainee, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting materials management and supply chain activities to help ensure the timely availability of materials for operations.
  • Assisting with inventory-related tasks, material tracking, and data accuracy within internal systems.
  • Supporting the review and maintenance of material records and related documentation.
  • Assisting with reporting, data analysis, and process improvement activities related to materials management.
  • Participating in team meetings, projects, and other operational support activities as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a current university student in Materials Management, Procurement, Business, or a related field.
  • Have exposure to materials management-related courses or relevant academic knowledge.
  • Be proactive, accurate, collaborative, and responsible.
  • Be a strong team player with good communication skills.
  • Be fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Be able to legally work in Norway without company sponsorship or time restriction.
  • Be well organized and able to follow up on tasks in a timely manner.
