About the Role

Job Description Summary

The Electrical Engineer – Intern will work with a team of Secondary Engineering (Interface Engineering, Controls & Protection, Automation, LV Auxiliary System) team within the Global Engineering Centre (GEC) of Grid systems integration business Part of GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions, that can deliver and change to meet the demands of the grid and renewable energy market. As leaders in the energy space our goal is to accelerate the transition for a more energy efficient grid to fulfil the needs of tomorrow. Our projects are unique and interesting, and you’ll need to bring a solution-focused, positive approach to each one to do your best to collaborate with world renowned experts on game-changing technologies.

As an Intern participant, you will work together with other fellow graduate engineers to design, execute and present the results of a group project to the executive managers of the business, where you develop knowledge and strengthen capabilities in Engineering design & calculations for the Electrical Substations.

As an Intern participant, you will work together with other fellow graduate engineers to design, execute and present the results of a group project to the executive managers of the business, where you develop knowledge and strengthen capabilities in Engineering design & calculations for the Electrical Substations.

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
    • We are looking for fresh graduates in related engineering fields, such as power electrical, electronic, controls engineering.
    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical / electrical & Electronics / Power Engineering is preferred and having >7.5 CGPA in the academic.
    • Knowledge of power systems, power electronics, high voltage engineering, Matlab / Simulink, PSCAD / PSSE/ Digsilent / EMTP / ETAP, 3D Revit tool, AutoCAD or C/C++ Embedded/Real-time development experiences would be an advantage.
    • Existing right to work in the countries for these positions is mandatory.  GE does not provide visa or relocation support for these positions.

  • Role overview

Based at the GSI Global Engineering Center (GEC) in Noida / Chennai, India, the role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their technical skills and develop personally within an internationally recognized company in the renewables and grid sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 12-month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.

  • Responsibilities not limited to below:

Secondary Engineering Design (for AIS/GIS/HVDC/FACTS) like Single Line Diagram, Protection Single Line Diagram, Protection requirements, Interlocking, Trip Matrix, Cable Engineering, Interface Engineering, Control & Protection, Local Control Cubicle scheme drawing preparation/review, cable schedule preparation, CT-VT sizing, AC-DC Single Line diagram, Battery/Battery charger sizing, etc., Equipment scheme drawings/review and co-ordination with other engineering discipline.

  • The Person:

The successful candidate will ideally have completed 4 years of Engineering degree level study in a related field such as Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Power Engineering.

Needs to be eligible to work in India. No Visa support will be provided.
