About the Role
 

The Sourcing Intern will support Global Commodity Leaders (GCL) in cost out, cash flow improvement, and service level improvement projects for the business. 

  • Summer schedule – 20- 40 hours per week, min 3 days per week
  • Fall / Spring schedule – up to 20 hours, min 3 days per week
  • Work location – hybrid remote + in-office location in Mayfield, OH or Hendersonville, NC

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

The following are representative responsibilities for the intern during the assignment. Specific work will vary depending on the team the intern is assigned to.

  • Assist Global Commodity Leader to meet sourcing goals for relevant commodities and gain sourcing functional expertise. 
  • Support execution of cost out and cash improvement programs on-time / on-budget.
  • Use cloud based tools to send RFQs to suppliers, collect and analyze data, recommend action and implement solutions
  • Update MRP systems with appropriate supplier inputs (Ex: Cost, Lead-time, Supplier Selections, MOQs, ROPs, Safety Stocks, etc.) 
  • Work with GCL to develop future state cost out roadmaps for commodities.
  • Work with suppliers to get commodity deliverables accomplished

 

Qualifications / Requirements: 

  • Min 3.0 GPA with background in engineering / supply chain
  • Must be self starter, proactive individual with excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, documentation and communication skills.  Must be able to effectively communicate with suppliers, colleagues and management..
  • Must have excellent MS Excel skills. Required working knowledge of Office suite of apps. Macros, automation and data analytics experience a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks at any given time and provide regular updates.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus
