POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to develop IT skills, gain real-world experience, and contribute to the secure and efficient operation of technology at a growing credit union. The intern will assist with tasks such as imaging, asset tracking, documentation, and general IT support while learning in a dynamic, team-based environment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Asset Management Support- Assist with tracking and organizing IT assets including laptops, desktops, and peripherals. This includes updating inventory records, labelling equipment, and participating in regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with internal processes.
  • PC and Laptop Imaging & Deployment- Help prepare devices for new hires or replacement needs by imaging machines, installing necessary software, and performing initial system configurations. Interns will gain hands-on experience with deployment tools and learn the best practices for device readiness.
  • Hardware Maintenance and Troubleshooting- Support the IT team in maintaining and troubleshooting basic hardware issues such as faulty peripherals, slow machines, or connectivity problems. This hands-on role will provide exposure to diagnosing problems and learning how to provide first-level resolutions.
  • Exposure to Enterprise IT Operations- Participate in team meetings, shadow experienced IT staff, and contribute to ongoing projects to understand how IT supports a larger organization. Interns will gain insight into areas like networking, cybersecurity, and IT service management while developing real-world professional skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PROGRAM AND STRUCTURE

  • Orientation - All interns will participate in an orientation session, which will cover the Credit Union’s history, values, policies and work expectations. Interns will be introduced to their department and team members.
  • Mentorship - Each intern will be paired with a mentor or supervisor who will guide them through the internship, providing support, feedback and career development advice.
  • Projects and Tasks - Interns will be assigned specific projects, tasks, and responsibilities based on business needs and when possible, aligned with their academic studies and career goals.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: High school business program, high school graduate or equivalent. 3.0 GPA or higher in major field of study such as Project Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.

EXPERIENCE: Previous business or clerical experience preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of organization’s Employee Handbook and policies.
  • Must comply with the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.
