Description

Summer Program: June 7- August 6, 2027

Launch your professional future in Washington, D.C. through a supportive, structured internship experience designed for motivated neurodivergent young people.

The BroadFutures DC Internship Program combines paid internships with individualized coaching, professional training, and ongoing mentorship to help interns build confidence, workplace skills, and independence. Interns participate in a cohort-based experience that includes pre-program training, weekly professional development, and personalized support throughout the internship.

Our internships are intentionally matched based on each intern’s strengths, interests, and goals, with opportunities available across a wide range of sectors, including nonprofit organizations, hospitality, marketing and communications, policy, administration, technology, and more. All accepted participants are guaranteed an internship placement.

The program is designed for neurodivergent young adults ages 18–26 who are college-capable, motivated to grow professionally, and ready to gain meaningful real-world experience in a supportive environment. Internships take place in person throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Program Structure: The first week is comprehensive professional training. For the remainder of the program, participants are at their internship site Monday-Thursday (20 hours total) and in professional training with the intern cohort every Friday.

Comprehensive support: Interns and employers receive both group and one-on-one support throughout the program.

Equal pay: Stipends equal to at least D.C. minimum wage.

Experience-based: Transitional work experiences, not intended to lead to full-time employment.
