Position Summary
Fleet & Transportation is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented student worker to provide administrative support for daily fleet operations. This role will assist with vehicle reservation support, driver and vehicle records, document processing, email/phone support, data entry, and general office tasks.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable learning new systems, and able to work independently after training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fleet reservation system updates and reservation support.
- Help maintain driver, vehicle, registration, and insurance records.
- Support van certification tracking and related administrative tasks.
- Organize, save, upload, and e-file fleet-related documents.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance and data system updates.
- Help monitor and route Fleet emails and phone calls.
- Assist with spreadsheets, tracking lists, daily reports, and recurring administrative projects.
- Help update instructions, training materials, and process documents.
- Provide general administrative backup support to Fleet staff.
- May drive GCU vehicles such as passenger vans, golf carts, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current GCU student eligible for student employment.
- Able to work 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 7am-4pm
- Summer availability required and academic break preferred.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule around class schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new software systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle information responsibly.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Must support and uphold the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
Student Employment Eligibility Requirements
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. To qualify for student employment, applicants must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor's or master’s program at GCU.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
- Be in good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the university.
- Failure to meet these requirements may result in termination of employment.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
