Program overview of Climate, Economics, and Finance (CEF)

In this role, you will:

· Contribute to the development of open-source energy system models- IDEEA (Indian Zero Carbon Energy Pathways) and the State Energy Calculator, to support national and sub-national energy transition analysis in India.

If you’re passionate about learning and want to explore the domain of climate change and energy modelling, this role is for you!

What you will do:

Research, Data, and Documentation

· Dive into literature and other data sources to curate the numbers required to integrate decarbonization pathways of different sectors within the model.

· Support the team in organizing, cleaning, and validating datasets pertaining to national and sub-national energy systems.

· Conduct policy research to help scenario development in the model. This involves reviewing national and state-level climate, energy, and economic policies and summarizing their implications on the model results.

What you will need:

1)      Educational Background    

·       Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental/climate sciences, energy studies, economics, public policy, or related fields.

2)      Experience & Skills

·        0-1 year of experience in climate-energy-economy modelling. If you're just getting started, we're excited to help you grow!

·        Basic understanding of R and Excel is required.

·        Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

·        Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail.

·        Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

·        Passionate about climate action, sustainability, and impactful change.

Location: Bengaluru

Duration: 3 months (Extendable up to 5 months)
