Job Description:
Position: Business Support Placement
Location: Ballymoney
Reporting to: Senior Human Resources Manager
Employment Type: Full-time temporary (9-12 months)
Job Purpose
This role will be responsible for the support of the Human Resources and HSE functions through a year-long placement, gaining hands-on experience across core HR activities and health, safety, and environmental compliance. This role provides exposure to team member lifecycle processes, training, wellbeing initiatives, and workplace health and safety systems while supporting continuous improvement across both areas.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
HR
- Support day-to-day HR administration, including team member records, contracts, and personnel files
- Assist with recruitment activities such as job postings, CV screening, interview coordination, and onboarding
- Support induction programs for new team members
- Assist with absence management tracking and HR reporting
- Support team member engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Assist with training coordination, record-keeping, and development activities
- Maintain accurate HR data in accordance with GDPR and company policies
HSE
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HSE policies and procedures
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
- Support risk assessments and safe systems of work documentation
- Assist with monitoring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Help coordinate HSE training and awareness initiatives
- Support audits, inspections, and ISO or regulatory compliance activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects within HSE
Essential
- Currently studying towards a degree in Human Resources Management, Business, a related discipline OR Occupational Health and Safety/ Environmental Health/ NEBOSH General/ NEBOSH Diploma
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including excel and word
- Excellent organisation skills, time management and ability to prioritise
- Ability to work within team and on own initiative
- Willingness to lean and take initiative
- Strong Attention to detail and confidentiality
Desirable
- Previous work placement or relevant experience
- IOSH Managing Safety
- Knowledge of HR practices or HSE legislation
- Interest in Well bring and work place safety
- Experience with HRIS or HSE Systems
