We are seeking a People Operations Intern to join our Talent team, committed to delivering an outstanding candidate and employee experience. As a People Operations Intern, you will partner with and learn about employee lifecycle HR functions while supporting key Talent initiatives. Join our team and shine hope in the lives of others! 

What you'll do:

  • Learn key People Operations compliance requirements, including employment laws, policies and audit practices,
  • Observe how People Operations team members support frontline and operational teams. Shadow People Operations team members in meetings with leaders and staff.
  • Support job posting processes and applicant tracking activities.
  • Assist with resume screening and candidate coordination.
  • Participate in recruitment planning and pipeline tracking discussions.
  • Assist with onboarding logistics, including new hire documentation, to ensure a smooth and positive onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Shadow People Operations Director meetings to learn more about ministry operations.
  • As requested, support People Operations data entry and/or audit functions to ensure accuracy of employee records.
  • Compile and analyze People Operations data such as turnover, hiring activity and headcount trends.
  • Observe and assist with People Operations projects and key initiatives. Participate in problem-solving discussions and team meetings.
  • Learn how People Operations metrics align with financial performance and forecasting.
  • Strengthen ability to translate data into business insights and recommendations.
  • Meet with analytics and data teams to understand how enterprise data is used for organizational scorecards and analytical data models.
  • Observe strategic project management meetings.
  • Partner with People Operations and Operational leaders to learn more about Senior Living operations.

 What you’ll bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in People Operations or related operational functions as a career path.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality, work collaboratively, and interact with employees of all levels.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer tasks with specific equipment and software applications, including Microsoft Office applications and other software.
  • Travel domestically as needed to learn different aspects of business.
  • Requires professional commitment to demonstrate Christ-like values, per the Buckner Mission Statement.
