About the Role

Student Shop Technician (Summer Position)

Columbus, OH | Onsite
Seasonal Summer Position
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: $18/hour

Looking for a hands-on summer job?

Do you enjoy working with tools, figuring out how things work, and learning new skills? Are you interested in mechanics, automotive technology, diesel technology, welding, industrial maintenance, or skilled trades?

Raymond Storage Concepts is looking for a Student Shop Technician to join our Cincinnati team for the summer. This position is designed for students who want real-world experience in a mechanical shop environment while learning from experienced technicians.

This is NOT a forklift driving job.

Instead, you'll gain exposure to forklift and material handling equipment while helping support our shop operations and learning valuable mechanical skills.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Student Shop Technician, you'll assist our shop team with a variety of hands-on tasks, including:

  • Assisting technicians with equipment repairs and maintenance

  • Learning basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

  • Cleaning and organizing tools, workstations, and shop areas

  • Assisting with equipment inspections

  • Supporting loading and unloading equipment as needed

  • Helping maintain a safe and organized shop environment

  • Assisting with general shop and facility upkeep projects

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 17 years old

  • Currently enrolled in high school, a vocational/trade program, or college

  • Interest in mechanics, equipment repair, automotive technology, diesel technology, industrial maintenance, welding, or a related field

  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Reliable transportation to our Cincinnati facility

No previous technician experience is required.

Schedule & Location

  • Monday–Friday

  • 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Summer seasonal position

  • Onsite in Columbus, OH
