Preferred School/Course of Intern: Degree in Microbiology / Biotechnology

Job Purpose

We are looking to provide a learning opportunity for an intern in Microbiology Lab that can provides a hands-on learning opportunity for a microbiology intern to support quality control activities through data analysis, laboratory operations, and continuous improvement initiatives in the microbiology lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support in data collection, analysis and documentation for project support and continuous improvement in the microbiology lab.
  • To assist the microbiologist to prepare media preparation for routine use and inventory control management.
  • To support microbial identification libraries and perform gaps analysis on raw material microbial testing.
  • To conduct daily and monthly performance check on balance and pH.
  • To assist or buddy the microbiologist for water monitoring and environmental monitoring.
  • To perform any other tasks assigned by Section Lead or QC Manager.

Learning Outcomes:

You will be able to:

  • Develop technical competency in microbiological data collection, analysis, and documentation
  • Gain hands-on experience with real industry practices, including media preparation, aseptic laboratory techniques, and water and environmental monitoring in a QC microbiology lab
  • Build a solid understanding of quality control standards and laboratory compliance requirements
  • Strengthen teamwork and collaboration skills by working closely with microbiologists
  • Improve analytical and problem-solving abilities through data evaluation and gap identification

Why You?

We are looking for students who have these business skills & competencies:

  • Educational background – Bachelor’s degree Microbiology /Biotechnology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data handling
  • Basic understanding of aseptic techniques in microbiology laboratory operations
  • Fundamental knowledge of microbiological methods, including inoculation, streak plate, and pour plate techniques
  • Ability to support microbiologists in media preparation and microbial identification activities
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to think critically, work independently, and solve problems effectively
  • Strong attention to detail with a results-driven mindset
