About the Role

About the Role:

This Athletics Graduate Assistant position will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the areas of coaching strength building and physical conditioning of BCU athletes, and the overall administration of the program.

The position includes tuition remission and a stipend.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Admitted to the Briar Cliff University graduate school program.
  • Experience with strength and conditioning
  • Valid Driver’s license is required.
  • Successfully complete a background check.


    Essential Skills:

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. .

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
