About the Role

About the Role:

As an Intern at Abraxas Youth & Family Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting our health care and social assistance initiatives. This position is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, where you will assist in various projects aimed at improving patient care and community outreach. You will collaborate with experienced professionals, gaining insights into the operational aspects of health care services. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of our programs and the well-being of the individuals we serve. Ultimately, this internship will equip you with valuable skills and knowledge that will enhance your career in the health care industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Health Care Administration, Social Work, Public Health) for Fall Semester.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and software.
  • Basic understanding of health care policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of health care programs and services.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient care.
  • Help prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and management.
  • Engage with clients and community members to gather feedback and assess needs.

Skills:

The required skills, such as strong communication and teamwork, will be essential as you interact with colleagues and clients daily. Your ability to conduct research and analyze data will be utilized in various projects, helping to inform decision-making processes. Preferred skills, like familiarity with data analysis tools, will enhance your contributions to program evaluations and reports.
