JOB OVERVIEW

COLORS is looking for a detail-oriented Finance Working Student to support the day-to-day activities of the Finance team. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will assist with bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and audit preparation.

This role offers hands-on experience across key finance functions and is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field who is eager to develop practical skills in a fast-paced, international environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
The Finance Working Student  will support in:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist with processing supplier invoices, employee expense claims, and customer payments. Verify transactions for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support timely payment processing.
  • Bookkeeping & Reconciliations: Maintain accurate financial records by entering transactions into the accounting system. Support regular bank, credit card, and account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Help prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries. Assist in tracking and analysing financial performance.
  • Tax & Compliance Assistance: Support the preparation of VAT filings and help ensure compliance with German accounting and tax regulations. Assist in maintaining documentation required for audits and regulatory purposes.
  • Expense Management: Review and process travel and business expense claims in accordance with company policies. Ensure supporting documentation is complete and properly recorded.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Assist the finance team with budget preparation, forecasting activities, and monitoring actual results against budget targets.
  • Audit & Internal Controls: Provide administrative and analytical support during internal and external audits. Help maintain organised financial records and support the implementation of effective financial controls.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the company to gather financial information, answer finance-related queries, and support operational decision-making. Coordinate with external partners such as auditors, tax advisors, and vendors when needed.


TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE: 

  • Has knowledge of Accounting principles with experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, DATEV) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & G-Suite.
  • Fluent in both English and German (written and spoken); proficiency in French is a bonus.
  • A detail-oriented, proactive individual who enjoys problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
