About the Role

Sappi is offering an exciting opportunity for a Occupational Health Clinic Intern to gain practical, hands‑on experience within a professional occupational health environment. This internship is designed to provide learning exposure in clinic administration, medical records management, and occupational health processes while supporting qualified medical practitioners.
 

As an Occupational Health Clinic Intern you will learn how to:

  • Assist with data capturing, retrieval, updating, and maintenance of employee medical records in line with legislative and company requirements
  • Scanning, filing, and manage medical documentation to ensure accurate and up to date records
  • Support onboarding and periodic medical processes, including preparing documentation and tracking completion
  • Monitor expiry dates for medicals and assist in identifying employees due for renewals
  • Support coordination and communication between the clinic, Human Resources, and Security regarding completed and restricted medicals
  • Providing general administrative support to the clinic and attending medical practitioners
  • Apply and maintain strict confidentiality of all medical and employee information in line with company policies and ethical standards


What are we looking for?

  • Matric and a Enrolled Nursing Assistant qualification
  • Registration with a professional body (SANC or HPCSA) is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
  • Basic understanding of clinical workflows and medical terminology
  • High attention to detail and a professional work ethic
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • No prior experience required
