Programme description

The Singapore Student Work Placement lasts 5 months and allows you to apply your academic knowledge in a real banking environment, make meaningful contributions to our teams, and build the professional and personal skills you’ll need for your future career.

High performing individuals will have the opportunity to be converted to our Singapore Apprenticeship Programme upon graduation in 2027.

 

Programme details 

Placement period: September 2026 to February 2027

Duration: 5-6 months

For: Final year Polytechnic students from any discipline

Areas: International Wealth and Premier Banking, Corporate and Institutional Banking, and Group Infrastructure

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to real HSBC projects, develop workplace confidence and build skills like teamwork, communication, organisation and stakeholder interaction. You’ll learn from experienced professionals and get valuable insight into how HSBC operates day-to-day.

 

Across 20 – 24 weeks, you will:

  • Gain practical experience that complements your academic studies
  • Take on real responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects
  • Apply both your behavioural skills and academic knowledge to create value for HSBC
