Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
KLA is seeking highly motivated intern candidates to join the Applications Engineering team supporting advanced inspection and review products for the semiconductor manufacturing industry. This internship provides hands-on exposure to cutting-edge e-beam/inspection systems and real-world fab applications. Based in Shanghai, China, the Regional Development Applications Engineering Intern will be responsible for:
Assist in designing and executing experiments to evaluate new tool features and system performance. Collect, analyze, and visualize data under guidance from senior engineers. Contribute to documentation such as application notes, characterization reports, and best-known methods (BKMs).
Work with Applications engineers to understand semiconductor fabrication processes and defect review workflows. Support process optimization studies and benchmarking activities using customer or demo datasets. Help prepare materials for product demonstrations and internal/external presentations.
Assist in tool setup, calibration checks, and recipe execution in lab or demo environments. Participate in debugging and problem investigation under supervision.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, product engineering, and field applications. Contribute to internal knowledge bases, training material, and documentation. Present project findings to the team at the end of the internship.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
