About the Role

JOB FUNCTION

The Insurance Intern will support our team by assisting with daily operations across client service, underwriting support, policy administration, and general office functions. This role is designed to provide hands‑on exposure to the insurance industry while developing practical skills in customer service, compliance, and administrative support.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with responding to client inquiries, gathering required documentation, and preparing account information for review.
  • Help process policy changes, renewals, cancellations, and endorsements under the guidance of licensed team members.
  • Maintain accurate records in our internal systems, ensuring all client and policy information is up to date.
  • Collect and organize information needed for underwriting review, including applications, loss runs, and supporting documents.
  • Support compliance tasks such as verifying documentation, preparing audit materials, and ensuring files meet regulatory standards.
  • Conduct basic research on insurance products, carriers, and market trends as assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and special projects to gain exposure to different areas of the business.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Work Experience 

  • No prior insurance experience required; internship is designed for students or early‑career individuals seeking industry exposure.
  • Current Student pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in the insurance or financial services industry.

Education/Skills

  • Enrolled in a degree program such as Business, Finance, Risk Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and follow processes.

  • Ability to handle sensitive client information responsibly.
  • Willingness to ask questions, research answers, and support team needs.
  • Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and adjusting to changing priorities.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer, and handle light office materials (up to 10–15 lbs).
  • Document handling — Filing, scanning, and organizing paperwork as needed.

 

Equipment/Machines/Software 

  • Computer, phone, copier, scanner, and standard office tools.
  • Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to insurance management systems may be provided during training.
