Job Title: System Analyst Intern
Location: Newark, CA
Department: Finance

Job overview: The System Analyst Intern will be a a vital bridge between our technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders. They will assist senior analysts in evaluating our current IT systems, gathering business requirements, and designing efficient workflows to optimize overall performance, cost savings, and operational metrics.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering: Support senior analysts in facilitating workshops or interviews with end-users to document business needs and functional requirements.
  • System & Workflow Evaluation: Analyze existing software applications, user interactions, and data flows to identify inefficiencies or performance bottlenecks.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Use data tools to monitor performance trends and translate raw data into actionable management insights.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce clear, standardized documentation, including system blueprints, data models, user manuals, and workflow diagrams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, project managers, and business teams to ensure technical solutions align with company goals.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: Participate in basic system testing and functional troubleshooting to verify that new or modified systems meet design specifications.

Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Junior or Senior standing is preferred, but all eligible students are welcome to apply.

Required Skills:

  1. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) or Google Workspace.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  6. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
  7. Experience with SQL, data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Datalogic), or programming languages (Python, Java).
  8. Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) or project management tools.
  9. Relevant coursework or prior internship experience in IT.
