POSITION SUMMARY
The People Development Intern is a temporary, 90-day role designed to support the operational and administrative functions of the People Development (PD) team. This position provides hands-on experience in learning and development, organizational training, internal communications, and change management initiatives within a dynamic, member-centered organization. The intern will assist with the coordination and execution of training programs (e.g., New Employee Orientation (NEO), Branch Essentials, and other learning events), support project implementation efforts, manage administrative workflows, and help maintain accurate documentation and reporting. This role is ideal for an individual seeking practical experience in training operations, learning administration, and organizational development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Training & Event Support - Assist with preparation and setup for instructor-led training sessions (e.g., NEO, Branch Essentials, leadership programs, workshops). Prepare training materials, sign-in sheets, name tents, facilitator packets, and participant materials. Coordinate room setup (in-person or virtual), technology checks, and post-session breakdown. Support attendance tracking and follow-up communications.
• Administrative & Operational Support - Manage and monitor PD ticket queues and route requests appropriately. Support reporting efforts, including pulling training completion data and compiling basic reports. Assist with file cleanup, organization, and document management within shared drives or intranet platforms. Maintain tracking logs and project documentation as directed.
• Communication & Change Support - Draft and prepare internal communications related to training programs, initiatives, or updates. Assist in preparing communications, reminders, and reinforcement materials. Support change management initiatives by helping coordinate timelines, documentation, and stakeholder updates.
• Project & Initiative Support - Provide administrative support for ongoing PD projects and organizational initiatives. Assist with project tracking, task follow-ups, and documentation. Support the development and organization of learning materials, guides, and job aids.
• General Department Support - Collaborate with PD team members to ensure smooth daily operations. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the People Development function.

PROGRAM AND STRUCTURE
• Orientation - All interns will participate in an orientation session, which will cover the Credit Union’s history, values, policies and work expectations. Interns will be introduced to their department and team members.
• Mentorship - Each intern will be paired with a mentor or supervisor who will guide them through the internship, providing support, feedback and career development advice.
• Projects and Tasks - Interns will be assigned specific projects, tasks, and responsibilities based on business needs and when possible, aligned with their academic studies and career goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: High school business program, high school graduate or equivalent. Some clerical training helpful. 3.0 GPA or higher in major field of study as Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, who are eager to explore the operational side of Human Resources and Learning & Development.
EXPERIENCE: Previous business or clerical experience preferred.
