Software Engineering Intern — Technology@Lilly, Bengaluru
Job Location: Bengaluru
Qualification and Eligibility Criteria
BE/BTech in Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT).
What We Would Look For
We are looking for a curious and driven Software Engineering Intern who will contribute to building the backbone of our cloud data lake platform. In this role, you will investigate, learn, design, prototype, and implement cutting-edge cloud technologies powered by AI. You will also gain hands-on exposure to full stack technologies.
Understanding of software development lifecycle fundamentals.
Willingness to explore and apply technologies across the cloud/platform engineering spectrum, including AI Agent development, AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Kafka, Python/Java, RestAPIs, databases, Agile and DevOps practices.
Vivid learner with a strong appetite to experiment and iterate — not afraid to try, fail, and improve.
Detail-oriented and structured in approach, especially when working with data quality and platform reliability.
Strong analytical thinking: ability to trace through complex systems, debug failures, and identify root causes.
Collaborative and communicative — comfortable working across time zones with distributed engineering teams.
Self-starter who can own a deliverable end-to-end with appropriate guidance.
Comfortable using AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude) as part of everyday development workflows — for code generation, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving.
At Lilly, caring is not only what we do for patients. It is how we work. We believe the people who dedicate themselves to making medicines better deserve an environment that makes their lives better too, one where they are supported, respected, and given the space to do their best work. This is not just a policy. It is who we are.
