Overview:
RMIT Vietnam is looking for Digital Communications Intern to support the Digital Communications Advisor in taking ownership of RMIT Vietnam social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, TikTok), contributing to consistent, insight-driven, and engaging content that strengthens brand voice and community.
The role is designed to provide hands-on experience across social media operations,
content execution, and campaign support, while also contributing fresh ideas and student perspectives.
The intern will work closely with the Digital Communications Advisor to support day -to-day content and campaign activities across multiple platforms and projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Content & Social Media Support (50% of workload)
- Support the planning, creation, scheduling and publishing of content across RMIT Vietnam social media platforms.
- Assist with writing captions, sourcing assets, editing short-form videos and preparing social media copy.
- Support community management, including monitoring comments, messages and trends where required.
- Assist in maintaining content calendars and publishing schedules.
Campaign & Project Coordination (10% of workload)
- Support campaign execution across student-facing initiatives and institutional priorities.
- Assist with coordinating student content collaborators to deliver creative initiatives on time.
- Help organise content shoots, interviews and content collection.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for digital content projects as required.
Performance Tracking & Reporting (20% of workload)
- Assist in tracking content performance and compiling weekly/monthly reports.
- Monitor engagement, reach and platform trends.
- Support benchmarking and audience insight activities.
Social Listening & Monitoring (5% of workload)
- Monitor online conversations, community sentiment and emerging issues relating to the University across social and digital platforms.
- Support timely social listening alerts for relevant conversations, trends or reputational risks.
- Assist in compiling social listening summaries and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Translate Vietnamese social media posts, comments and online discussions into English for reporting and stakeholder updates.
Trendspotting & Ideation (10% of workload)
- Stay updated on Gen Z trends, platform updates and emerging content formats.
- Contribute creative ideas for social content, campaigns and audience engagement.
- Identify opportunities to improve content performance and student relevance.
General Team Support (5% of workload)
- Provide day-to-day support to the Digital Communications Advisor across content and communication tasks.
- Support ad hoc projects and team priorities when required.
- Maintain organised files, content assets and working documents.

Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Current university student.
- Strong interest in social media, digital communications or content creation.
- Familiarity with emerging social platforms.
- Strong written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
- Ability to translate Vietnamese online discussions into clear, professional English.
- Basic skills in video editing and content creation tools, such as CapCut and Canva.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable
- Experience managing social media accounts or creating digital content.
- Understanding of social media analytics, reporting or social listening tools.
- Experience working in student communities, clubs or creator environments.

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 5.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).
