About the Role

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a motivated Embedded Safety Tooling & CI/CD Intern (ideally 6 months, mandatory internship) to join our Safety Software team in Schönaich (close to Stuttgart), with a flexible start date. If you're interested in software quality, automation, and want to get hands-on inside a live IEC 61508 certification process — this is a rare opportunity to contribute to something that genuinely matters.

HERE'S WHERE YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Extend CI/CD pipelines for our Positron SDK using GitHub Actions — building the automation infrastructure that makes a safety-critical development process reliable, repeatable, and audit-ready

  • Automate test report generation for TÜV evidence packages, turning raw test output into structured documentation that certification reviewers can actually work with

  • Integrate static analysis tools — clang-tidy, cppcheck, MISRA C linters — into the development workflow to catch issues early and support ongoing compliance

  • Implement code coverage measurement and visualisation, giving the team clear, actionable insight into where the test suite is strong and where gaps remain

WHO YOU ARE

  • Enrolled MSc student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering — with a practical interest in how software quality is actually enforced, not just described in a process document

  • Strong Python skills, comfortable with bash scripting, CMake, and Git in a real development environment where things are moving fast

  • You've worked with CI/CD pipelines hands-on — GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar — and understand what makes a pipeline robust enough to trust

  • You can read embedded C and navigate MISRA C constraints without getting lost; writing it from scratch isn't required, but understanding it is

  • Genuinely interested in software quality and functional safety tooling — experience with static analysis tools is a bonus, curiosity about why they exist is the baseline

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Flexible working hours when life takes unexpected turns

  • Company support for gym memberships through Wellpass

  • Birthday vouchers

  • Drinks and coffee (free of charge, of course)

  • Snacks and fruit for all employees, as well as breakfast every Monday

  • Regular global team-building events such as boot camps, skiing, and summer BBQs

  • An international team with long-term prospects

  • Highly competent colleagues who are experts in their field and happy to support you in your learning and growth

  • Modern office space

  • Our company's WG (upon availability)
