Location: N Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL (4 days per week in-office) 

Duration: Summer Internship  

 

Position Overview 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives, helping to protect company systems, networks, and data. The ideal candidate is passionate about information security, eager to learn, and interested in gaining practical exposure in a professional environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist with monitoring security systems and alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities 

  • Support vulnerability assessments, security scans, and risk analyses 

  • Help investigate security incidents and document findings 

  • Participate in maintaining and updating security policies, procedures, and documentation 

  • Assist with user access reviews and identity management processes 

  • Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices 

  • Support awareness initiatives, including employee cybersecurity training and communications 

  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams on security-related tasks and projects 

 

Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as network security, encryption, firewalls, and endpoint protection 

  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking fundamentals 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Coursework or projects related to cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or information assurance 

  • Exposure to tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint detection software 

  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) 

  • Relevant certifications (or in progress), such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+

The target salary range for this position is - annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
