Job Summary:

Fast learning, actively spirited, independent using and developing engineering skills. This is a fast-paced, hands-on, on-site opportunity building test equipment, using troubleshooting skills, implementing creative solutions, and promoting safety and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Making and documenting adjustments to Visual Basic 6 ICT fixture programs
  • Writing test procedures for vintage bench tests
  • Using VB.NET to modernize test automation.
  • Test equipment maintenance
  • Support production/Test Boards
  • Supporting/troubleshooting non-conforming materials.
  • Implementing engineering change orders
  • Computer backups in test cell area
  • Providing software support for in-house Visual Basic and LabVIEW applications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with common tools
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude
  • Works well with others
  • Promotes a healthy and safe work place

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Visual Basic, LabVIEW, or other programming knowledge
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Ability to identify failures in electronic components
  • Knowledge of surface-mount and through-hole soldering
  • Knowledge of/experience with electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Auto CAD/Solidworks
  • Basic knowledge of lean/six sigma manufacturing

Location Information:

This position is located in Rochester, New York.  Rochester will allow you to experience the four seasons.  The city has multiple parks and more than 100 miles of trails.  You can bike, hike, paddleboard, fish, ski, snowboard, and snow shoe – there are activities for everyone all year long.  Rochester is home to the Strong National Museum of Play which offers interactive exhibits that provide entertainment and nostalgia for attendees of all ages.  There are also options to visit a photography museum, listen to live music, walk around public markets and the historic Erie Canal, relax at the botanic gardens, visit the beach, take a lighthouse tour, attend a lilac festival, and explore a planetarium.  No matter the weather, you’ll be able to entertain the whole family.
