Internship position in Competition Economics in Brussels

As an intern you will be an integral part of our team in our Brussels and Paris offices. You will be involved in real work that has an impact on clients and businesses. You will be working closely with our experts on a variety of cases in the competition space where you will be able to contribute to the analysis.


The work of an intern can be both qualitative and quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject matter research to data collection to the preparation of economic, statistical, and other forms of analysis. Interns should be able to assemble compelling evidence from data and research that underpins our expert opinions.

The ideal candidate will have skills in the following areas:

  • You enjoy working in a team.

  • You are passionate about economics.

  • You like conceptual issues and working with data.

  • You want to contribute with your analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.

  • You can propose creative solutions to complex challenges.

  • You have a positive attitude towards new tasks and learning.

  • You are currently completing an advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in Economics or related fields.

  • You have an interest in competition economics and a good knowledge of theoretical and/or empirical microeconomics and industrial organisation.

  • You can draft and communicate effectively in English. A good knowledge of other languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, etc.) is an asset.

  • You can write simple codes in Stata and/or R that are self-explanatory and easy to follow.

  • You have a positive can-do attitude and you are willing to proactively engage with your colleagues.

What you will be doing as an intern:

  • Build expertise through training: From the start, you will benefit from a comprehensive onboarding and training program to equip you with the tools needed for a smooth transition into project work.

  • Tackle real-world problems: Use economic theory and industry insights to help solve complex issues faced by our clients.

  • Work with data that matters: Analyse real client datasets using advanced tools and statistical techniques to extract meaningful insights.

  • Develop rigorous economic models: Construct models based on economic theory and industry-specific considerations to provide clear answers to complex questions.

  • Explore current trends and debates: Conduct research into the latest industry developments and academic literature to support client work and stay ahead of emerging issues.

  • Collaborate in a team setting: Work closely with our team to contribute to project success.

  • Take part in the office’s daily life: Join team-building events, sports sessions, and other social activities that enrich your internship experience.
