About the Role

About this Role

Fandom is the largest Fan platform in the world with over 2.5 billion page views and 300 million users a month! Our Community Platform underlies some of the biggest fan knowledge bases in the world, including communities built around pop culture phenomena like Star Wars, Minecraft, Marvel Comics, and thousands of others. We are looking for software engineer interns not afraid of learning and participating in development in such a highly scalable and concurrent environment.

You will work with our broad technology stack, with a focus on front-end development and data analysis (and yes, that’s a very unique combination - but also a good chance to check what fits you most). You will also have the opportunity to take part in designing processes for the whole Engineering team. At Fandom, there are many ways to learn and grow as a software engineer.

You Will...

  • Join an interdisciplinary Software Engineering team
  • Work with an experienced mentor
  • Work with your team on daily tasks including maintaining our front-end tracking library, designing and implementing event tracking more efficiently using AI, working on the A/B testing platform, supporting other teams and answering data-related questions
  • Learn how to get the most out of engagement data using tools such as Snowflake, Athena or Superset
  • Learn the importance of data quality and how to maintain it

You Have...

  • A foundational knowledge of, or experience with, TypeScript or modern frontend frameworks
  • A problem-solving mindset
  • The ability and motivation to learn quickly
  • Willingness to work across all parts of the technical stack
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-motivation and the confidence to seek support when needed

Bonus Points...

  • Currently studying or holding a degree in Computer Science
  • A strong curiosity about, or foundational experience in, data analysis
  • A sharp eye for UI/UX details and know a thing or two about web performance
  • Interest in leveraging AI to improve internal processes
  • Passion for pop culture (movies, games, TV shows, anime, etc.)

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation, our internship is fully paid: 35 PLN per hour
  • MacBook Pro and all the gear you need for work
  • Free access to a multitude of popular online courses and books sponsored by our company
  • Frequent team bonding events
  • Flexible work hours
  • Open, energetic and fan-focused, international work environment
