About the Role

Compensation: $17.13/hour 


Position Overview

POWTEC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office Administration Intern to support a high-priority records digitization and office organization project. This is a hands-on, in-office role focused primarily on scanning, indexing, and organizing a significant volume of physical company documents into our digital document management system (SharePoint). The intern will play a meaningful role in helping POWTEC meet its records retention obligations as a government contractor while improving the accessibility and security of our company records.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Scan physical documents (contracts, accounting records, HR files, and other company records) and index them accurately into SharePoint following established naming and filing conventions
  • Review the existing server drive to determine whether documents have already been scanned before processing, to avoid duplication of effort
  • Work directly with department leads (Contracts, Accounting) to receive guidance on document handling, retention decisions, and proper indexing
  • Sort and organize physical files; assist in making retention or disposal decisions based on supervisor direction
  • Handle incoming mail and distribute accordingly
  • Assist with light office organization tasks, including organizing office supplies and maintaining common areas
  • Provide light janitorial support as needed (e.g., vacuuming, watering plants, general tidiness)
  • Track hours accurately using the company timekeeping system (Databasics)
