What you will do:
The Fire Detection Inspector Intern will support the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire detection systems under the guidance of experienced professionals. This internship provides hands-on exposure to building safety systems, regulatory compliance, and customer service in a field-based service environment.
How you will do it:
Assist with routine inspection and testing of fire detection systems across customer sites
Support preventative maintenance activities for both Johnson Controls and competitor-branded systems
Learn and apply safety standards, codes, and regulatory compliance requirements
Identify and report minor system issues during inspections under supervision
Support documentation accuracy by organizing service records and inspection data
Assist in completing service acknowledgments and maintaining customer records
Collaborate with technicians and team members to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery
Provide professional, responsive support to customers during service interactions
Required Qualifications:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at a tech school or university
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or building systems (academic or hands-on exposure)
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow safety protocols
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a team-oriented, field-based environment
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19.00 - $22.00/hour (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
