About Us:
The Education and Community Engagement department at the Seattle Symphony is a close-knit team that creates a supportive and collaborative environment. With Composition-related activities at its core, we develop programs to create access to opportunity and health and well-being for the people of the Puget Sound and beyond. In addition to family and school programs spending from pre-K to elementary, high school through adult, we build lasting relationships with our regions’ communities through community concerts, side-by-side concerts and the Community Connections Program for nonprofit organizations. Position Overview:
The EDCE Administrative Coordinator, supervised by the Senior Manager of Learning Programs, plays an essential role in the daily operation of the Education & Community Engagement Department, as well as direct support for numerous and varied programs such as School Programs (Link Up, Open Rehearsals, Friday Matinees), Family Concert programs, program assessment and data collections, Community Connections (free tickets distribution program), pre-concert lectures, Seattle Symphony musicians partner visits, event supports.
Essential Job Functions:
Operations Support
· Collaborates with Education & Community Engagement staff on reservations and registrations, including scheduling, payments, and other communication with schools, community partners and others.
· Coordinates daily Education & Community Engagement department operations; including but not limited to monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, requesting maintenance with facilities staff, and providing support for all Education & Community Engagement programs.
· Ensures that Education & Community Engagement department program calendars and all calendars and materials supporting the calendars are updated.
· Direct phone and email inquiries (Community Connections, Link Up, Education).
· Assist with departmental programs’ data collections.
Program & Event Support
· Assist with day-of logistics for Open Rehearsals.
· Aid during Education & Community Engagement events.
· Coordinate volunteers schedule in support of EDCE programs.
· Prepares materials for programs, meetings and events; including activity materials, collating documents, hospitality, room setup, technical equipment setup and other supplies needed.
· Distributes Community Connections tickets to community partner organizations.
· Coordinates Pre-Concert lecturers’ day-of logistics, payments and teachers’ clock hours forms.
· Assist in coordinating Seattle Symphony musicians partner visits.
Requirements
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a team player, effective communicator, and have the flexibility to work empathetically with a wide variety of people. They will be detail-oriented and a strong creative thinker with a propensity for action.
· Enrolled in a college and established Work Study status by FAFSA
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Excellent customer service skills (phone, email and in person) required
· Strong computer skills with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint

· The functions of this position are performed primarily in an office environment.
· Regular activities include frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and bending.
· This position may require occasional pulling, lifting and climbing stairs.
· Ability to speak, hear and communicate clearly while handling staff inquiries, telephone calls and customer requests.
· Specific vision abilities require close visual acuity for viewing a computer screen and reading, preparing, entering and/or analyzing data.
· This position requires repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers for typing at a standard keyboard and regular pinching, picking up and holding pencils and other desk tools.
· Must have the ability to lift 30 pounds as needed.
Hiring Process and Timeline:
· Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
