About The Company
Maritime Paper Products LP is the leading manufacturer of Corrugated Packaging in Atlantic Canada. It has three manufacturing facilities located on the east coast of Canada with convenient access to a major shipping port for ease of exporting worldwide. Maritime Paper produces high quality corrugated packaging products that include the standard brown shipping carton, 7 color flexographic printing, retail displays, specialty folding, die cuts, corrugated pallets, wax cascaded cartons and bulk bins.
About the Role

Summer Student – General Labourer (10)

Hourly Rate: $18.22

Location: Moncton, New Brunswick

We are looking for college/university or upcoming high school graduating students to join our team for the summer months. Employment will run until the end of August. 

This position requires rotating shift work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with machine set up and operation
  • Verify print specifications with production copy
  • Stack products 
  • Visually inspect product for errors
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health, safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment
  • Abide by all rules and regulations of the company

 Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching at or above shoulder level, stooping, crawling, climbing, and kneeling
  • Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color identification
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Noise, dust, slippery surfaces, extreme heat/cold
  • Frequent overtime may be required
  • Rotating shift work 

 Qualifications:

Applicants should have the following:

  • High School Diploma or upcoming graduate
  • Must be currently enrolled in a university or college program
  • Ability to learn to operate a variety of production equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
  • Commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to work as part of a team
