About the Role
GENERAL STATEMENT

The Student Graphic Artist/Animator produces visual materials for 22 West Media, maintaining ASI and company quality standards. This position works in conjunction with the Marketing Assistant and ensures the content 22 West Media creates has a visual presence both digitally and in printed materials. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Create 22 West Media official materials, including show graphics and logos, animations, flyers and advertisements, and other materials as requested. 
  1. Research and develop innovative and engaging project designs.
  1. Well versed in illustration, graphic design, 2d and 3d animation, photography and digital media and able to train volunteers in those areas.
  1. Advise project managers on aesthetic choices for the company, individual shows, and campaigns.
  1. Work with the graphics volunteers and interns for the creation of materials. 
  1. Collaborate with marketing team to build coherent brand identity. 
  1. Works to maintain the relevancy and aesthetic of the 22 West Media website by updating visuals and ensuring consistent quality. 
  1. Takes on additional duties as assigned by the 22 West Media Student Leads, Student Art Director, and the marketing department.
  1. Attend biweekly staff meetings and participate in company events as required.
  1. Prepare the department report for the weekly meeting with 22 West Media Leads. 
  1. Other duties as assigned, reasonably within the scope of the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Completion of one year of college; or three to six months related experience in graphic art or design; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous volunteer experience with 22 West Media preferred. Must be a current and active CSULB student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.

Knowledge and Abilities

Must have experience using digital graphics programs, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. InDesign experience is preferred. 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Schedule

This position is a temporary, one academic-year appointment aligned with the CSULB academic calendar. The work schedule generally follows standard business hours. Scheduled hours may fluctuate depending on departmental needs. Occasional evening and weekend support is required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
