TRANSITION ACADEMY WORK-BASED LEARNING  

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE 

Reports To:  Maintenance/Operations and WBL Coordinator   Job Status: Non-Exempt 

DAYS/HOURS OF JOB:? Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and or Sunday      (Quarter 1 and Quarter 2)    

** shift times before 9:00am or after 4:30pm discretion of WBL employer needs                                                                                                                   

Shift 1:     9:00am- 1:00pm     Shift 2:     1:00pm-4:30pm                                                                                                        Duration: 4 weeks -12 weeks  

Job Summary:  

Assist the A New Leaf facilities maintenance department to ensure all A New Leaf properties are maintained in accordance to company policy and state/federal compliance regulations.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:  

  • Will aid the facilities maintenance department with ensuring that?New Leaf, Inc. facilities?are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition. 
  • Perform routine building maintenance checks to ensure there are no damaged or broken equipment, sanitize equipment and building amenities. 
  • Assemble, repair, maintain and move furniture (desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, related fittings and fixtures). 
  • May perform some carpentry, electrical and plumbing and learn about contract HVAC.  
  • Learn how to review and complete electronic maintenance requests. 

This position allows the student to practice the skills they learned in their pre-requisite/core classes and year 1 classes, exploring career opportunities in the occupational field of facilities maintenance. 

The student will complete an application and will interview the manager of the assigned work-based learning site (facilities maintenance).

  • May be required to drive the ANL golf cart. 
  • Ability to handle diverse weather conditions. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.? 
  • Criminal arrest check will be done through the OSBI; Per Section 1025.1 et seq. Of Title 56 of the Oklahoma statues, House Bill 1790, any prospective employee with a felony or misdemeanor conviction, guilty plea or plea of nolo contendere will not be eligible for employment.? This prohibition may be disregarded if an appropriate waiver is obtained from the Office of the Director, DDSD, Department of Human Services, or his/her designees.? 
  • Community Services Registry check (House Bill 1790) will be done through DDSD, Department of Human Services.? The person whose name appears on the registry cannot work for A New Leaf.? 
  • Employees and A New Leaf are engaged in an at-will employment relationship, meaning that either are free to terminate the relationship at any time with or without reason and with or without notice.?
