About the Role

GENERAL STATEMENT

The Social Media Assistant is responsible forassisting in the development and implementation of an integrated marketing program for 22 West Media.  Efforts will focus on marketing 22 West Media, promoting viewership and involvement, and assisting with certain aspects of 22 West Media social media.  They will assist the Marketing Assistant in planning, executing and monitoring marketing and advertising campaigns, including the preparation of print material, social media updates, and various informational opportunities. position works in conjunction with the Marketing Assistant and ensures the content 22 West Media creates has a visual presence both digitally and in printed materials. 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Assists with 22 West Media social media platforms and online marketing. 
  1. Responsible for assisting the Marketing Assistant with oversight of the various marketing efforts and campaigns.  Must be able to recruit, monitor, encourage and support student volunteers. 
  1. Organize presentations, and communication strategies to facilitate informational events and/or presentations. 
  1. Assists Marketing Assistant with implementation of social media and marketing research including surveys, focus groups, and polls. 
  1. Work closely with ASI Communications, including helping the 22 West Media and ASI Street Team, as needed.
  1. Must attend and participate in 22 West Media meetings. 
  1. Attend staff meetings, participate in company events as needed.
  1. Other duties as assigned, reasonably within the scope of the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education and/or Experience

A minimum of one semester of job-related experience in social media preferred. Previous volunteer experience with 22 West Media preferred. Must be a current and active CSULB student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.


Knowledge and Abilities

Working knowledge of modern office methods (Microsoft Office and Google Suite) and practices. An average knowledge of social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, X, Tik Tok.  General knowledge of data processing and personal computer operations.  Knowledge of both MAC and PC systems is preferred.  Exceptional customer service and communication skills are required. 


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS


Schedule

This position is a temporary, one academic-year appointment aligned with the CSULB academic calendar. The work schedule generally follows standard business hours. Scheduled hours may fluctuate depending on departmental needs. Occasional evening and weekend

support is required.
