About the Role

GENERAL STATEMENT

The 22 West Media Marketing Assistant focuses on marketing the company itself and providing a clear, unified direction for the brand image of the company. They develop, organize, and guide strategies for 22 West Media’s campus and social media presence. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develop campaigns and strategies to increase 22 West Media’s community and campus presence. 
  1. Establishes marketing plan with the Social Media Assistant and communicates consistently to ensure cohesion including the upkeep of a content spreadsheet. 
  1. Collaborates with external vendors, Advertising Assistant on promotions, events, marketing campaigns and specific design projects. 
  1. Integrates new technologies into the website and social media accounts.
  1. Assists in answering or forwarding to management any web and social media site-related questions from users and maintains an active social media presence for 22 West Media. 
  1. Communicate with other personnel regarding technical requirements of website and upcoming projects or events related to website. 
  1. Works with the Distribution Assistant to get marketing materials out to the campus and community. 
  1. Analyzes traffic on website and social media accounts and recommends changes. 
  1. Provides a monthly report on the statistics of 22 West social media and website visits. 
  1. Provides technical support and participates in employee website and social media training. 
  1. Attends biweekly staff meetings and submits a written report following guidelines from the 22 West Media Student Leads. 
  1. Other duties as assigned, reasonably within the scope of the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

Completion of one year of college; or three to six months marketing-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous volunteer experience with 22 West Media preferred. Must be a current and active CSULB student enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.

Knowledge and Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Hootsuite Social Media Management Platform for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well as an understanding of how to write for SEO. Must be able to tactfully interact with a diverse group of students and staff. Must have excellent customer service skills. 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Schedule

This position is a temporary, one academic-year appointment aligned with the CSULB academic calendar. The work schedule generally follows standard business hours. Scheduled hours may fluctuate depending on departmental needs. Occasional evening and weekend support is required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
