About the Role

As a Summer Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain hands-on exposure to a large-scale manufacturing environment.

About the Role:

This internship is designed to provide practical engineering experience while supporting your professional development. Working within our Engineering team, you’ll contribute to projects that help improve operational performance, enhance safety, reduce waste, and support sustainability initiatives across the site.

You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams while building valuable technical and problem-solving skills in a dynamic manufacturing setting

What You Will Do:

  • Support engineers and project teams to develop solutions that meet operational and business needs.
  • Assist with the design, testing, analysis, and improvement of mechanical systems.
  • Conduct research, gather data, and contribute to engineering decision-making.
  • Help prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and support problem-solving activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Support the identification of process improvement opportunities across manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with project activities, including site visits, inspections, testing, and progress tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project outcomes.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, inspections, and initiatives that support a strong safety culture.
  • Complete site training requirements and actively engage in learning and development opportunities.
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience working alongside workshop technicians and engineering professionals.

Who You Are:


You are a curious and motivated engineering student who enjoys solving problems, learning new skills, and working collaboratively with others. You bring a proactive mindset and are excited by the opportunity to contribute fresh ideas in a manufacturing environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current enrolment in a Bachelor's degree (preferably Honours) in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and ethical engineering practices.
  • Experience using engineering software such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or similar tools.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Previous internship, work placement, or industry experience.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP.
  • An understanding of basic project management principles.
  • Awareness of relevant engineering standards and regulations.
