Looking to gain valuable professional experience while making an impact in your community? Oakland County is seeking motivated individuals interested in building practical skills and gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of local government. This position provides hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals while supporting meaningful projects that serve Oakland County residents.

What You'll Do
Gain hands-on experience working in a professional county government environment while supporting departmental projects and initiatives.
Assist with gathering, organizing, and analyzing data for reports, special projects, and operational needs.
Help prepare written reports, presentations, and other business documents.
Conduct research, interviews, and information gathering with County staff, clients, and external agencies.
Accompany professional staff on assignments to learn departmental operations, processes, and best practices.
Communicate with County departments and outside organizations to obtain and share information.
Utilize Countywide and department-specific software applications to complete assignments and support daily operations.
Develop a broad understanding of Oakland County's organizational structure and public service functions.

Minimum Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must meet one of the following educational requirements:

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a freshman or sophomore status (equates to steps 1 or 2 of salary range).

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a junior/senior status (equates to steps 3 or 4 of salary range).

Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in a graduate degree program (equates to steps 5 or 6 of salary range).
