As an intern you will join the Data Science & AI team, where we leverage emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to unlock insights from healthcare textual information and improve public healthcare outcomes. The primary objective of this project is to develop and enhance innovative technologies through the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Agentic AI. Leveraging enterprise cloud resources, the project explores techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI, information detection, topic modelling, and chatbot application development to support intelligent healthcare solutions.
The selected intern(s) will assist in following:
- Investigate topic models, graph models, and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance the understanding and extraction of textual information.
- Develop multi-agent systems for conversational chatbots to perform diverse tasks.
- Explore and evaluate different agentic AI frameworks and agent implementations.
- Research multimodal LLMs capable of processing text, images, flowcharts, and tables as both inputs and outputs.
- Develop and refine backend API endpoints and/or frontend application components using enterprise cloud resources.
- Participate in experimentation involving Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), information detection, and other NLP-related techniques.
- Support the development, testing, and deployment of AI-powered healthcare applications in a team-based environment.
About You:
- Undergraduate currently in Year 2 or Year 3, pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Business Artificial Intelligence Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, with solid coding fundamentals
- Familiarity with Git for code management and collaborative development
- Hands-on experience with LLM integration using Python (e.g. through school projects, personal projects, or internships)
- Strong interest in Generative AI and Agentic AI, with curiosity in applying these technologies within the healthcare domain
- Basic understanding of AI concepts, including embeddings, deep learning models, and agent-based systems
- Familiarity with API integration (e.g. FastAPI) and/or frontend development (e.g. React, TypeScript) is a plus
- Independent, fast-learner, and self-driven
- Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
