Job Description
As an Ops Excellence Intern, you’ll support efforts to improve operational efficiency, system reliability, and customer experience within the Hotels & SNAP (Flight+Hotel) business.You will work across both day-to-day operations and system improvement initiatives, including workflow automation, data management, and operational reporting. The role provides exposure to system engineering concepts, data pipelines, and lightweight DevOps-style automation in a production-like environment.
This role suits someone who enjoys solving structured problems, working with data, and understanding how operational systems work end-to-end in a fast-paced travel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily operational tasks such as case follow-ups, guest and supplier coordination, and structured data updates across internal systems.
- Support workflow automation and process improvement initiatives using Google Apps Script (JavaScript), Google Sheets, and SQL-based data analysis and reporting tools.
- Assist in maintaining automated workflows by supporting data synchronization, scheduled reporting, and basic operational monitoring, logging, and error tracking.
- Maintain operational dashboards and trackers to provide accurate, consistent, and timely insights for decision-making.
- Collaborate with Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve issues impacting customers and support workflow execution.
- Identify inefficiencies or manual processes and propose practical, automation-friendly improvements.
- Support the documentation of workflows, process flows, and data flows (including ERDs and DFDs), maintain documentation in Confluence, and assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by validating process changes and documenting test outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Strong organization and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability in a fast-changing operational environment.
- Ability to learn and apply basic scripting or coding concepts in operational workflows.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Basic knowledge of SQL, including querying, filtering, joins, and data aggregation.
- Exposure to Google Apps Script and basic JavaScript programming.
- Basic familiarity with HTML and CSS for creating structured outputs such as emails, reports, and dashboards.
- Exposure to REST APIs and tools such as Postman for testing and integration workflows.
- Basic understanding of Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent qualification.
- Interest in system engineering, DevOps concepts, automation, or data-driven workflows.
- Curiosity-driven mindset with willingness to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
