The team R&D and PD MEFA is responsible for the endtoend process of the Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA/MEFA): material specifications, component geometry, manufacturing process development, and validation of experimental principle components. That is why we are looking for you! Responsibilities:

  • Support the adaptation and further development of characterization and testing methods, including measurement routines on coordinate measuring machines  and the design of leakage test fixtures.
  • Perform measurements and characterization activities on experimental MEFA prototype components, including:
    • Mechanical testing (e.g., tensile testing)
    • Metallographic sample preparation and microscopy
    • Imaging and characterization techniques
    • Leakage testing
    • Thickness measurements
    • Sample preparation for SEM analysis
    • Chemical analysis (e.g., FTIR, Photo-DSC)
  • Prepare, structure, and analyze measurement and test data, and contribute to the creation of technical presentations, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with process development and simulation teams to integrate experimental findings into material and process models, supporting data-driven development and optimization activities

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • You are currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering or Natural Sciences, such as Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • You have ideally gained initial experience in material testing, microscopy, or laboratory analysis.
  • You demonstrate a structured, independent, and analytical approach to work.
  • You possess good written and spoken communication skills in both German and English.

Additional information

Proof of current enrollment in a degree program with outstanding exams is required. 

The position is available on a part-time (minimum 15 hours per week) or full-time basis
