Position Description

 The Sanneh Fundraising and Stewardship Coordinator VISTA will identify opportunities and develop systems to cultivate relationships with donors and supporters that increase resources for Sanneh programs to improve learning outcomes for diverse and low-income youth. 

Role and Responsibilities

OBJECTIVES of the ASSIGNMENT:

Improve donor stewardship by strengthening processes to more effectively utilize Donor Management System


ACTIVITIES (Q1-4):

  • Review Sustainability Materials from Prior VISTA 

  •  Learn Sanneh organizational history, become familiar with core programs, activities, and major events. 

  • Become familiar with current donor stewardship processes 

  • Learn current donor management system to understand and improve tracking and organizing donor profiles 

  • Learn how to develop weekly and monthly reports of donor activities and fundraising campaigns 

  •  Identify internal and external learning opportunities and professional development resources to increase knowledge related to database management and/or donor stewardship 



ACTIVITIES (Q1-4):

  • Build processes to strengthen donor management system usage and successful stewardship practices 

  • Create weekly and monthly donor activity and fundraising reports to increase resource development 

  • Develop technical assistance materials and training for staff on donor management system and related processes 

  • Engage professional development resources to increase knowledge related to database management and/or donor stewardship 



ACTIVITIES (Q1-4):

  • Continue to refine processes strengthening stewardship practices and donor management system use. 

  •  Continue to create and refine weekly and monthly donor activity and fundraising reports to improve resource development.

  • Continue to develop technical assistance materials and training for staff on donor management system and related processes

  •  Continue to engage professional development resources to increase knowledge related to database management and/or donor stewardship 

  • Spearhead and/or continue capacity building efforts using enhanced communications strategies to increase youth participation, financial support for programming, and supporter engagement and volunteer recruitment 

ACTIVITIES (Q1-4):

  • Continue implementation of strengthened stewardship processes and donor management system use. 

  • Continue weekly and monthly reports of donor activity and create annual fundraising report. 

  • Finish thorough documentation of systems, processes and practices related to donor management system 

  • Develop a handbook of materials which can be utilized by the organization to sustain new systems, process improvements, and practices. 


Preferred Education & Qualifications


  • AmeriCorps VISTA’s must be 18 years or older.

  • Have a Valid Drivers License.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have lawful permanent residency.

  • Desire to work in a growing nonprofit organization with a strong commitment to the mission of helping low-income students earn admission to college and persist toward degree completion.
