Job Description:

About the role

As part of Ferrovial’s Financial Risk Management team, you will gain hands-on exposure to how a global infrastructure group identifies, measures and manages financial risks across international markets. The role combines technical financial analysis with real business impact, covering derivatives valuation, hedging strategies, macroeconomic monitoring, financial reporting and digital transformation initiatives, including automation and AI-enabled tools.

You will join a highly specialized team with direct exposure to senior finance stakeholders, banks, auditors and business units, in an environment that encourages learning, ownership and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Support in the preparation of periodic reports monitoring the macroeconomic environment and financial figures relevant to Ferrovial's financial risk.

  • Contribute to improving financial risk reporting processes by automating recurring tasks, enhancing data quality and developing efficient tools that generate timely and actionable insights for management.

  • Support the measurement and interpretation of financial risks through data analysis, tailored metrics and innovative analytical tools, including AI-enabled solutions applied to real financial decisions.

  • Support the analysis of hedging proposals and their potential impacts for Ferrovial, including accounting, tax and legal considerations.

  • Collaborate in the development and monitoring of financial risk management policies and procedures across the group’s business units.

  • Support business units by providing market quotes and data relevant to their operations.

  • Support in the loading and validation of contracted financial operations in Ferrovial's information systems.

  • Follow-up of regulatory and administrative obligations derived from the contracting of financial products (confirmations, settlements, framework contracts, etc.)

  • Prepare valuation processes and periodic effectiveness tests for the group’s derivatives portfolio, supporting accounting teams and external auditor requirements.

  • Participate in innovation initiatives to improve valuation, risk monitoring and reporting processes through digital tools, automation and artificial intelligence.

  • Support in the credit evaluation of the companies with which the Ferrovial group operates.

  • Analysis and reporting of risk-adjusted return on financial institutions (RORAC).

Qualifications

  • Recently graduated in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.

  • High level of English (C1-C2).

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and interest in data analysis, automation and visualization tools.

  • Interest in programming languages commonly used in financial analysis and risk modelling, such as Python or R, would be highly valued.

  • Curiosity about artificial intelligence, automation and data analytics applied to finance would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, SAP, Reuters or credit risk metrics would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of financial products such as debt instruments, derivatives and other financial products would be valued.

  • Postgraduate studies or interest in financial and/or quantitative subjects, including FRM or CFA, would be an asset.

  • Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, attention to detail and ability to work in a team.
