Position Overview

The Data Operations Junior Analyst will work for a team that supports the Portfolio Analytics & Reporting (“SPAR”), Investor Relations, and Fund Accounting teams in collecting and managing data and the flow of documents for numerous private market investments. 40 hours per week opportunity for a 16-week period with the possibility to extend or to transition to a permanent career opportunity with StepStone.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintaining the StepStone Reporting Inbox by processing all emails received daily, gathering associated information from third party providers (including APIs); and creating and storing electronic files of all data received
  • Attending to document escalation requests on the SPAR Internal Signals list and resolving missing document inquiries in a timely manner
  • Providing strict and timely follow-up on all communications and adhering to SPAR department procedures
  • Reviewing numerous electronic documents and adhering to a precise file naming convention system
  • Resolve untagged documents in accordance with risk control SOP’s
  • Assisting with the management of client SharePoint sites by uploading documents and responding to client inquiries and requests
  • Coordinating with fellow team members around the globe to meet SPAR mission objectives
  • Assisting the overall SPAR team on expanded scope projects and tasks

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or business preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of academic success
  • Prior private equity, investment banking, planning and analysis, or research experience a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft SharePoint a plus
  • Follow up skills and acute attention to accuracy and detail are essential
  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence, and adaptability
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
