Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY - Assists and supports Maintenance Director to help with stewardship and care for Mission Waco facilities and vehicles. MUST BE ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. This is off-campus employment, so reliable transportation is important.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION – Becoming familiar with and supporting other Mission Waco staff and programs and related properties and vehicles. Review assigned work orders and available resources to complete tasks and communicate with supervisor regarding setting priorities. Purchase or order materials and supplies. Document and report information regarding work orders. Work collaboratively and communicate with staff, volunteers and/or vendors, as needed.

REQUIRED HARD SKILLS - Proficiency in technical and computer skills (Word, Excel, Espace, Phone, Email); Reliable form of transportation and license. Some familiarity with facility management equipment (paint, lawn mowers, etc). Time management and prioritization ability. Attention to detail and safety protocols. Physically able to lift 25-50 lbs. Physically able to do manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.

REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS - Intentionality, personable, adaptable, motivated and eager to learn, mature and communicable Christian Faith and spiritual life.

LEARNING OUTCOMES - Familiarity with Mission Waco and facility/vehicle maintenance and project management. Creative problem solving and flexible thinking/planning skills. Facility management skills. Ability to interact with broad spectrum of program staff and volunteers. Experiential knowledge of the importance and challenges of non-profit stewardship of physical resources such as buildings and vehicles.

Hourly Rate: $11-$12.50/hour (depending on new or returning student worker status and/or any recognized special skill level)
