About the Role

Are you a law student eager to develop your career in a truly international environment? Join our Reinsurance Contracts team in Brazil and gain hands-on experience supporting complex reinsurance transactions across multiple lines of business, while collaborating with colleagues across Latin America and the global Contracts community. This is a unique opportunity to build legal, commercial and analytical skills while working alongside experienced professionals in one of the world's leading reinsurance companies.

About the Role

The intern will work under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Reinsurance Contracts Counsel in charge of P&C Reinsurance Contracts in Brazil, performing:

 

Contract's support for P&C business in Brazil and aligning Swiss Re´s reinsurance contracts with applicable law, regulations, and internal requirements, including:

 

•         Supporting the Reinsurance Contracts Counsel in reinsurance agreement reviews and discussions with Underwriters, Client Managers, Operations and other support functions, and including external clients when necessary;

Effectively performing research activities and using available electronic and AI tools and internal systems to review and draft clauses and reinsurance contracts;

•         Performing administrative duties such as updating the team's SharePoint site and managing online filing systems;

•         Helping with training preparation/presentations, attending internal meetings, and compiling any necessary information for such meetings, as appropriate.

•         Fulfilling other ad hoc projects as assigned by the Senior Reinsurance Contracts Counsel.

•         This is a hybrid role that requires in-office attendance approximately three days per week.

About the Team

 

The Reinsurance Contracts Latam team is tasked with an important role, acting as both steer/advisors and valued partners to our clients. We are an experienced team of 4 lawyers who seek to understand and meet the needs of our clients, while providing holistic contracts support as a one stop shop for contracts services for the region. As members of a global team with frequent cross-border interactions, we benefit from meaningful exposure to diverse cultures and perspectives, which enriches our collaborative approach and broadens our strategic outlook.

 

About You

 

We are looking for:

 

•         Passionate law student, preferably from 2nd-3rd year on

•         Strong writing and communication skills

•         Language Intermediary on English. Spanish is a plus

•         Intern should be very proactive, detailed driven, curious, quick learner, able to work independently, productively, efficiently and a real team player.

•         Proficient in computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
