About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Data Analyst, the Business Intelligence Analyst Intern will provide essential support to the business intelligence team in data-driven reporting and decision making. The Intern will be responsible for generating key reports, conducting data extractions, and ensuring data governance. This role is best suited to someone with a passion for sport, an aptitude for working with numbers, and an enthusiasm for uncovering and telling stories through data. 

Students who wish to participate in an internship opportunity with Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group must be a part of an accredited post-secondary program where fulfillment of internship credit is required for graduation. 

  • This internship is a four (4) month full-time position from September 2026 to December 2026.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a post-secondary education program offering class credits for the internship placement -this is an unpaid internship.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement skills in key business analytics tools including Microsoft Excel, Ticketmaster’s Archtics and Host, SQL, and Snowflake.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of critical reports such as Net Promoter Score (NPS) reporting, ticketing reporting (owned and tenant teams), email reporting, and social media reporting.
  • Conduct monthly data extractions to assist with internal reporting.
  • Lead an analytics project; take ownership of an end-to-end analytics project, from data consolidation and analysis to presenting strategic insights that will directly impact business decisions.
  • Assist in ad hoc data extraction requests.

What’s needed:

  • Pursuing a post-secondary degree or diploma in commerce, computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Data driven with an interest in translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that resonate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, juggling multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to support team goals and learn from peers.
  • Strong written communication skills. 
  • Knowledge in any of the following tools considered an asset: Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Snowflake.
