About the Role

About our group:

Operations Excellence department is responsible for site productivity improvement, planning and allocating manufacturing specialist resources, managing budgets and procurement of indirect materials, training production-related personnel, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, it promotes Seagate branding, manages government relations, and engages in community responsibilities.

The following years, we are focusing on advanced robotics, AI-driven automation, and real factory deployment of next-generation solutions (including embodied and hybrid robots).

About the role - you will:

Technical: 
•    Support development or evaluation of robotics / AI / vision-based solutions
•    Participate in algorithm / logic validation (e.g. perception, motion planning, task execution)
•    Assist in data collection, analysis and model validation for robotics applications
Engineering & Deployment:
•    Conduct scenario identification and feasibility analysis for automation opportunities
•    Support robot deployment, testing, debugging and integration on shopfloor
•    Participate in pilot projects and real implementation, including issue troubleshooting
•    Track project progress and support end-to-end implementation

About you:

•    Bachelor/Master student in Robotics / Automation / AI / Mechatronics / EE
•    Strong interest in both robotics technology AND real-world engineering applications
•    Good problem-solving mindset and hands-on attitude
•    Able to work in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environment

Your experience includes:

Technical Capability:
•    Programming skills: Python / C++ / ROS / OpenCV 
•    Basic knowledge of robotics (kinematics, control, sensors) 
•    Familiar with AI / vision / simulation is a plus
Engineering Capability:
•    Hands-on experience in robotics / automation projects 
•    Familiar with debugging / testing / integration process 
•    Experience with PLC / industrial system is a plus

Location:

Located in the high technology district, our site in Wuxi is a global manufacturing hub, where more than 5,000 employees deliver technical services, customer test, manufacturing and support capabilities.
