Responsibilities
- As a member of the team, the intern will have the opportunity to leverage the latest GIS technologies and work alongside experts in the fields of GIS mapping & cartography, public works related projects, GIS-based field inspections, planning, land use, environmental, and public safety
- If selected for an internship, you will be fully integrated into your team and given project responsibilities that are both learning opportunities and a chance for you to contribute to the overall success of RICK
- You will enhance your technical knowledge in GIS and refine your abilities to collaborate, contribute to high-performing teams, and communicate – skills that are the essence of a successful professional!
- Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with researching, editing, compiling, and analyzing geographic information
- Assist with developing and maintaining spatial databases, products and services
- Assist with the creation of production-quality maps and web mapping applications
- Assist with geocoding, georeferencing, digitizing, or other data collection methods (to potentially include GIS-based field inspections)
- Contribute to the preparation of maps, tables, charts, reports, and presentations
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum education of a bachelor's degree in Geology, Geospatial Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, a GIS certificate program or a related field. Or in progress of degree.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, such as Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- One or more years of experience (or 1 or more courses) working with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in GIS technology.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, collaborative effectively, and produce accurate work.
- Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration while managing multiple priorities.
