The UT Southwestern Graduate Enrollment Management Internship is a full time, immersive experience for master’s students interested in higher education leadership, enrollment strategy, and student-centered administrative practice. Interns are essential members of the Graduate Enrollment Management team and gain hands on experience supporting the full lifecycle of recruiting and enrolling new biomedical PhD students. 


JOB SUMMARY
This paid internship requires a commitment of 30 hours per week for a minimum of 10 months. Internships may be renewed beyond the first year, based on exceptional performance, for the duration of the master’s program and up to one year following graduation.

What You’ll Do
Project Coordination: Support visit weekends, candidate interviews, and new student orientation.
Enrollment Operations: Assist admissions committees with application pre tiering, reviewer assignments, and preparation of review packets.
Process Improvement: Help streamline workflows, enhance applicant experience, and refine assessment tools. Maintain documentation of procedures and timelines.
Strategic & Executive Support: Contribute to special projects that shape long term enrollment strategies. Prepare summaries, research briefs, and recommendations.
Communication & Engagement: Draft and update candidate communications in the application portal and CRM. Collaborate with faculty, prospective students, alumni, and campus partners.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Current master’s student pursuing higher education administration/leadership, public administration, or related field 
  • Strong academic performance 
  • Demonstrated interest in higher education through coursework, work experience, or involvement
     

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Current resume/CV 
  • Unofficial transcript including at least one year of coursework (e.g., if currently within first two semesters of master’s degree program you may submit and undergraduate transcript)
  • One letter of recommendation from a faculty member in your master’s program
  • Personal statement (500 words max) addressing: 
    • Your interest in higher education administration & leadership
    • Why you want to intern with UT Southwestern Graduate School
    • Experiences that have prepared you for this opportunity
       

JOB DUTIES

  • Support for the Graduate School recruitment and admissions lifecycle for multiple programs, including but not limited to assisting with: 
    • Annual planning cycle for all recruitment and admissions functions.
    • Pre-tiering of applications and assigning reviewers.
    • Preparation of application review packets.
    • Candidate interviews and implementation of new interview scheduling software.
    • Recruitment visit weekends.
    • Implementation new CRM system for recruitment/admissions contact emails.
    • Management of recruitment travel and events.
    • Alumni data mining to maintain professional outcomes data.
    • Graduate School event support, including new student orientation.
    • Drafts of new and review of existing candidate communication templates.
    • Development and refinement of candidate and student assessment tools.
    • Data cleaning, analysis and reporting.
  • Various administrative and clerical assignments filled on an as needed basis.
